HEY!!!  MY QUESTION DOESN'T APPEAR HERE!

When: The open mic recordings are now offered every first Sunday of the month.

Cost : Your set can be captured for $15.00. You could put a live album together for next to nothing!

Reservations: There are a limited number of recording spots available, so you'll need to reserve one if you're coming out. Send an email to tc@soundchick.net with the desired recording date in the subject line.

Payment: You can pay for the set with cash on the spot, or with a credit card. If you choose to pay in advance, you can do so via PayPal.com. Do a 'send money' transaction with tc@tcsmythe.com as the recipient. If you choose to pay on a credit card at the Hops House, you will have to pay them extra to cover their credit card processing fee.

Risk: No. If you've paid with your credit card via paypal, and miss the open mic altogether, you can make it up the following week. There is a record of your payment.

Quality: They are as good as you are! (and sometimes better!) You can hear a sample right here.

Recording Time: Recording slots are usually 15 minutes long or 3 songs, but if the list is thin at 6:00pm, we've been known to let our early-birds play as many as 5 songs. If you make a mistake very early in a song, you can start over. Our audience is pretty understanding, but if you're melting down, it's probably best to move on to a different song. If you are positively on fire, feel free to stay on the list and you will be able to record and play again.

Delivery: About a half hour after your set, you will receive an audio CD. It will contain a raw recording of your 3 songs as well as any superfluous yattering or tuning you did. We call this the 'reference copy'. It will be separatedinto individual tracks, and you will be able to take it home or review it in your car before you leave, if you like.

Start Time: The sign-up list for the open mic is set near the popcorn machine at 6:00pm.  If you intend to record, indicate that on the space provided on the form.

Tuning on stage: It's usually not a problem to tune your guitar onstage, but if you take too long, you will only feel rushed to finish your set within 15 minutes. Please tune your guitar before taking the stage. Have you seen our lovely tuning patio? Ask for a tour!

Band Recordings: If your band can scale back froom a full drum kit, and run the bass through the PA, it may be possible to record your band. Call TC at 832 715 5226 and tell us about your band.

Recording Yourself: Sure you can. You'll need to bring a cable that has at least two RCA plugs on one end. The other end will plug into your recording device.
